Syrian Bread

Serves: 8


  • 1 1/8C Water

  • 2T Vegetable Oil
  • 1/2t Sugar
  • 1 1/2t Salt
  • 3C All Purpose Flour
  • 1 1/2t Active Dry Yeast


  1. Mix ingredients to form Dough.
  2. Cover Dough with tin foil and add pressure with two clean towels until Dough rises.
  3. Once Dough has risen, turn it out onto a lightly floured surface.
  4. Divide the Dough into 8 equal pieces and form into rounds.
  5. Cover rounds with a damp cloth and allow to rest.
  6. Preheat oven to 475 degrees.
  7. Roll Dough into thin flat circles and apply toppings and seasonings as desired.
  8. Cook on preheated baking sheet or a baking stone until puffed up and golden brown.
